Dr. Dre Announces April 20 Release Date

Dr. Dre Announces April 20 Detox Release Date

Be on the lookout for Detox. No, really. Dr. Dre gave his strongest indication yet that his long-awaited project will finally see the light of day.

In a short video clip linked to from producer Just Blaze's Twitter, the legendary West Coast hip-hop architect shouted out what appeared to be a release date: 4/20.

The comment from Dre was in response to Just Blaze shouting out Saigon's album release date. The former Roc-a-Fella in-house producer oversaw the Brooklyn MC's forthcoming The Greatest Story Never Told, due February 15.

"4/20, baby," Dre said into the camera. "4/20, I'm coming."

"You might just see a unicorn this year too!" Blaze joked in response.

The April 20 date falls on a Wednesday, which isn't the norm in music industry release dates, but the day is also a nod to the producer's first album, The Chronic. Dr. Dre's return is one of Mixtape Daily's stories to watch in 2011.

In December, Dre premiered the video for Detox's first single, "Kush," featuring Snoop Dogg and Akon. He also recently graced the cover of hip-hop magazine XXL with the message "Yes, Detox Is Coming."

In September, Dre participated in Jay-Z and Eminem's Home and Home concert series and said the historic event inspired him to complete his album.

"Being on the stage with Eminem and Jay-Z was one of the most incredible feelings I've felt in a long time," Dre told MTV2's "Sucker Free." "It inspired me, it made me want to hurry up and get back in the studio and put more effort and more work into my own project."

X-Men First Class Reshoots Release Date

X-Men First Class To Do Reshoots, No Effect on Release Date

X-Men: First Class is coming to theaters this June, but is still shooting. AccessHollywood spoke to First Class actor Edi Gathegi, who plays the mutant Darwin in the movie and the Twilight actor revealed that the movie is in reshoots.

I guess there's some, like, reshoots that they're doing at this point, but the bulk of the movie's done and they're sticking to their release date...so it'll be a pretty fast turnaround. But I have faith in it. I have faith in all the filmmakers. I think if the script is great and the director's great and the actors are great, it's gonna be a good X-Men.

Gathegi described his character's powers as "reactive adaptation" meaning that Darwin was in a "constant state of evolution" and admitted to doing kickboxing training for the movie which he called "pretty physical" and "rigorous."

When asked if he thought the prequel was going to please fans, Gathegi did his best to cautiously dodge the question.

I really want to say a lot about it, but I don't want to give false expectations, I want to manage expectations, but I love the X-Men series, and, in many ways, this is going back to the original X-Men. And I think [First Class] is being done in a wonderful way, so I think people are going to like it.

First Class was directed by Matthew Vaughn and co-stars James McAvoy, Kevin Bacon, Michael Fassbender, Caleb Landry Jones, Nicholas Hoult, January Jones, Jennifer Lawrence, and Lucas Till. Gathegi did not reveal what the reshoots would address.

Rilo Kiley as his date to award show

Golden, Globes, 2011, Jake, Gyllenhaal, takes, ex, Jenny, Lewis, Rilo, Kiley, date to award show

Jake Gyllenhaal brought one of his famous exes to the Golden Globes on Sunday - but it wasn't Taylor Swift.

His date for the night was Jenny Lewis, singer of the band Rilo Kiley and a former actress.

The former couple, who dated in 2001, has apparently stayed friends through the years. In 2009, Gyllenhaal brought then-girlfriend Reese Witherspoon to see her perform at Coachella. (Lewis also had a small role in Witherspoon's 1998 film, "Pleasantville.")

Still, Lewis' appearance was a surprise to many who thought Gyllenhaal, 30, would spend the night solo or bring a family member to the star-studded awards show.

The two didn't pose for pictures on the red carpet, but Lewis, 35, was never far from his side and could even be seen sitting next to him during the live broadcast.

And when Gyllenhaal, nominated for "Love and Other Drugs," lost out to "Barney's Version" star Paul Giamatti in the Best Actor (Comedy or Musical) category, it probably helped to have a friend by his side.

According to Us Weekly, the actor's brief relationship with Swift ended via a phone call last month, leaving the 21-year-old singer crushed.

Apple iPhone 5 to get completely Release

Apple iPhone 5 to get ‘completely redesigned’ Summer Release Date Expected

So it would seem that Apple weren’t all that happy with the current iPhone 4, as they are planning a major design and hardware overhaul according to a leak that also suggests a successor will launch in the summer.

According to reports across the pond from Engadget who has spoken to multiple sources, they claim that a complete redesign of the handset body is on the cards and that the device is already being tested by staff at Apple HQ.

A new processor is expected in the shape of a A5 CPU boasting a multi-core chip bringing it in line with the current chip that can be found in the power house LG Optimus 2X.

Apple is also being tipped to swap wireless chipset providers moving from Infineon to Qualcomm, likely in a bid to avoid connectivity issues previously faced with the iPhone 4.

Talk of the iPhone 5 has intensified in recent weeks and last week we reported that patents filed by Apple hinted that the iPhone 5 would get a slimmer design, and possibly incorporate a solar charging system. Although we wouldn’t hold our breathe on the solar charging.

An iPhone 5 summer release would fall in place with Apple’s usual cycle for its jewel in the crown, and we fully expect one or two more ‘leaks’ of information to emerge until then.
