Laura Vikmanis: Meet The Mom Who Is Redefining NFL Cheerleading!
Cheerleaders are supposed to be sweet young things that capture the ideal view of youth. At least that’s what cheerleaders used to be until mom Laura Vikmanis decided to pick up her pom-poms and bring the role of cheerleader into the modern age. The 42-year-old mom-of-two may be one of the oldest folks on the sidelines every time she puts on her BenGALS uniform to cheer on the NFL team, but she’s proud of the fact that she can serve as an inspiration for other moms about just what is possible over the age of 40.
It’s really her own daughters - Lila, 14, and Alexa, 12 – that she wants to inspire most to live out their dreams. She asays, “I look at myself as a role model for my children to show them no matter what age or dream you have, you can work really hard and achieve it.”
