The Day the Earth Stood Still Classic on AMC
This Friday at 9:00 pm ET,the 60th anniversary of ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ will be celebrated on AMC.The films way back in those times lacked technology and special effects,but their stories were powerful enough to make a high impact.
‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ was made in 1951, and was somewhat successful in the United States and a very big hit every where else.The 1951 film tells an unconventional science fiction tale about an alien that comes to Earth to warn humanity that its uncouth behavior is viewed as a threat to alien nations.
The Broadcast of Honour
AMC will present a HD broadcast of the film “The Day the Earth Stood Still.” in celebration of the film’s 60th Anniversary, and will mark the first time the film has aired on television in the HD format.
The Remake of Film 2008
Oscar-winner Jennifer Connelly was been chosen to star with Keanu Reeves in the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still, a Fox Studio project. Connelly had character of Helen, the scientist who makes first contact with Keanu’s character. Keanu plays the alien Klaatu who delivers the message: ‘Live in peace or be destroyed.’
