Glee Modern Family Among Nominees for GLAAD Awards

(NEW YORK) -- The Fox series Glee and the ABC comedy Modern Family are among the 147 nominees for the 2011 GLAAD Awards, which honors portrayals of gays and lesbians in the media.

The reality fashion series Project Runway and the film The Kids Are All Right also received nominations for the 22nd annual Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation media awards. Country singer Cheley Wright, who came out as a lesbian last year, was nominated in a music category. Ricky Martin’s coming out during an interview with Oprah Winfrey also received a nomination.

Winners will be announced during ceremonies in New York on March 19, Los Angeles on April 16, and San Francisco on May 14.
